After Pleasant Harbor, we motored for 6 hours and stayed at the Port of Kinston for two nights. http://portofkingston.org
The people that assisted us in the Marina office could not have been nicer and gave us great tips for the area. They also brought a pump to our boat, so we could do a dockside pump out, and helped us in getting a hose to use for some water. Our favorite restaurant was The Kingston Ale House https://www.facebook.com/TheKingstonAleHouse/, we ordered take out from there the first night and went there with the kids the second night. There is a bar in front, restaurant in back and a lovely deck in back. Check out Mora Ice Cream across the street for locally made fantastic ice cream. http://moraicecream.com Another highlight in Kingston was the the Firehouse Theater, it's within walking distance from the marina. We saw The Secret Life of Pets. www.kingstonfirehouse.com

After 2 nights in Port Ludlow, we headed to Pleasant Harbor, which is about half way down Hood Canal. It took us about 3 hours motoring to get there from Port Ludlow. Pleasant Harbor is exactly what it's name describes, very pleasant. A small cove tucked into trees and mountains. The Marina, facilities and pool have been remodeled in the past two years, they did a fantastic job. The pool was a hit with the kids and hot tub was enjoyed by all. We had lunch one day at the Pub, which was ok, great option for getting off the boat for a meal. They do offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Pub hosts live music on Saturdays in the Summer. The music is on the upper deck, and is 21 and over, you can hear the music from your boat as well. We loved our time there and they are wanting more boaters to come enjoy their newly remodeled space. http://pleasantharbormarina.com
We stayed in Port Ludlow Marina for two nights. While we were there our grandparents came to visit us. They stayed at the Inn at Port Ludlow while we were on our boat. We had a delicious dinner at the nearby Italian Restaurant, Cucina Italian Restaurant. We also rented Kayaks and toured the harbor in them. http://portludlowresort.com - post by Sport and Butterfly 7/19/16
